Rise and fall
Your lips slightly parted
Breath escaping
Your eyelashes skimming your cheeks
Trace your lips with my finger
Touch your sandy coloured hair
Lay my head on your chest
Listen to the steady drumming
Of my life
Ours
Entwined
Sleeping together
Wrapped warm in your arms
Whispering breath
Soft skin
Nights spent alone
Curled up in a dream
Things I want to happen
Not as simple as they seem
Though you're not mine
I badly want you to be

Safe from harm

Locking up your tears
Taking secrets to the grave
Tongue black with lies
Dark deeds you know well
Burn your very soul
You're in a living hell
Eyes closed
Against the pain in the world
Lips red and dangerous
Hair elegantly curled

Six feet underground
Pushing up the daises
There won't be a single sound
Just memories and photographs
To remember something that was
Will you cry for me?
Will it be a significant loss?
